Where do you get your strength? Where do you find happiness? Does happiness just seem to find you? Does your happiness come from money? From your job? Family? Wife / girlfriend? The home you own? The car you drive? From food? Maybe from alcohol or drugs? Or from a prescription bottle specifically designed to help make happiness? Maybe your happiness comes from your diet or your weight? From your accomplishments? Or from your friends? Are you happy when the sun shines or when you have a day off to yourself? Or do you find happiness through others, by volunteering, or through philanthropy?
Maybe you’re still trying, attempting to find happiness through all of the above at one time or another. Maybe it’s not one single thing, so you’re taking a shot at several areas where you might find happiness. Life is full of ups and downs, and I struggle to find the source. Why is it some days just feel better from the time I get out of bed, all through the work day and in to the night? Then the very next day – for some unknown reason – can feel really crappy?
I am absolutely sure that happiness comes from within – certainly not to be found looking around aimlessly. I want to find that inner switch that enables happiness to win out over sadness more often than not.

Well said!! No one person, possession or money can make you happy. I believe it is a choice I make every day to see the positive and humor in as many things as I can. I also believe it comes from living a life of thankfulness for what I already have, and in turn, generosity of spirit towards all living things, including the earth.

I know happiness is a choice I make and it is rooted in true gratitude in my heart but at times I wish it were more my default emotion than what it seems to be. I have to work at each and every day. It is truly a battle of the heart.

I find happiness in many things. And yeah… Staying positive and accepting that there is always payment. And I agree with having patience. I truly feel that sacrifice and selflessness helps. Also, humility is important. Stay away from the green monster (envy). Don’t believe in unicorns (I’m not a fan of the karma theory). Accept failure and don’t over think. Accept your frailties and embrace them. And most of all… Be fearless. Nothing is perfect.

Nearly every boss or supervisor I have ever had in my life has been an evil tyrannical BULLY. I have learned if I am not afraid and push against them, I will prevail. However, it seems every time I knock down a goliath… Another rears their ugly head and I am picking up another rock to take the next evil giant down. *shrugs* Eh, whatayado?

You nailed it. When I gave up looking for it in people and things, I finally found it within. The last few years have been the most stressful in my entire life – but when I wake up, I choose happiness. I still have ups and downs still… but as I ‘train’ my brain, those downs seems to be slowly disappearing. I wish you happiness, my friend!

This is what I believe……I believe that happiness is a choice. We find what we’re looking for (either good or bad) and if I just focus on the positives in my life, I find happiness to be a much easier choice on those days. There is good and bad all around us and our attitude controls much of that “happy” feeling. Many people forget that they, themselves, are in charge of their attitude and therefore are in control of their happiness. Knowing that I’ve been forgiven of my sins and that my savior loves me is for me where true happiness originates from. Nothing can fill that hole inside you like the Holy Spirit does!

Happiness isn’t a destination it’s a journey. Every day I find something to enjoy like yesterday I sat on my balcony and experienced a thunderstorm. Being part of the natural world is happiness to me. Just another step in the journey. Merry Be

After a long day yesterday, I sat outside on the back porch with the birds and chipmunks and rabbits as the sun set and dusk wrapped around me. A very relaxing bit of time to cherish.
